So after spending way too long reading all your posts on Alumacrafts and being a proud son of Minneapolis I'm the guy who ended up with this boat. I also picked up a 1958 Johnson 30 to go along with it. I'm sure I'll be looking for advice and keep a record here of the restoration. Thank you for all your insight on these great boats!

I like the concept of the half wheel deck - I've run a FD w/o wheel deck for quite a while and like the ability to easily move through the boat. On the other hand, some of my Feathercrafts have the wheel deck which is nice for remote steering, but limits mobility in the boat.
I plan to construct a half wheel deck for my Deep C eventually.
I've been looking for a classic tinny to run some of my older motors on, but they all seem to be in the mid-west. Oh well...
