Re: Fed Up
ok, ready for some humor?

My boat on trailer is a little over 12 feet tall. Dissasemble the engine all the way down to the block. Get rid of anything that adds weight to it. Then, secure a chain on each side of the engine with the bell housing bolts/water pump bolts. Using at least two people, pull out the engine and set it down up top.
next, attach another two ropes to the engine, and run the free ends to the back of a truck or something. You will use this truck to back the engine down off the boat kinda like a pully system, but use thick blankets to protect your boats fiberglass.

Be very careful. the block w/pistons in it weighs about 350 lbs. Its heavier than it looks.

oh, a bit of advice: Drain the oil from the pan. I was craddling the engine while two of my buddies had the chains. Naturally, where do you think the oil from the crankcase ended up once the engine was tilted? All over my shirt, and all over the deck of the boat.

Its a fun little project but be careful...
