Took my boat out for the first time while cruising if I give it more gas or turn it seems to go in nuetral. If I let off the gas it goes again. Could this be a prop that is going bad, or something else. Thank you

Could be the prop hub is slipping, or the coupler. Easiest to just change props and see if the problem is cured, if you don't have a prop, mark the prop splined shaft and the prop hub and give it a try. Then see if the marks are still aligned.

That's the most likely and easiest to fix answer.

By the way the boat is a 17.5 ft rinker with a 3.0 mercruser. The boat is a 1987 and I just put a 1984 outdrive it shifts good.

Could be simple ventilation. Does trim have any affect? Down/in is better? Can you hammer the throttle from idle going straight? How fast were you "cruising"?

Tell us more about the boat. Any history? Is it new? What is it? Motor/drive combo? Propeller condition?

Thank you I belive it was a spun prop I changed the prop and i marked it. It was slot better but still did it some. The marks did not line up so I think I have two spun props

Yeah, if the marks moved, both are bad. Get them both fixed, then you have a spare.
