I was coming in the channel at BlackPoint in Miami and noticed a brand new 25ft grady white going back and forth from the rocks to the other side(flats) When I got colser two very pretty ladies waved me over and asked if I knew anything about boats. I towed them away from the rocks and tied up, she said some horn was going off and the engine would not run more then 30 seconds. She told me she just got the boat from her ex-husband in a divorce! OUCH! I checked around and alas, she had no oil in the remote tank. She said what oil? What tank?<br />So I towed her in to the fuel dock and told her to get oil and I showed her where to put it and gave her a basic lesson on engine care (she had a brand new 250hp Yamaha) She insisted on buying me a drink at the dockside bar and while I was hanging with her freind she ran in the Ship Store then out to her boat to do the oil. They asked me to help them with the trailer since they had never done it before so of course I had to. When she started her engine, it started to smoke something awfull and conked out again, she restarted it and reved the engine to at least 3/4 throttle until I could hear this horrible noise from the engine. I shut it off and then I saw the empty oil cannisters, you guessed it, she put car oil in it. I towed her to the ramp and was sick to my stomach, that beautiful engine, that horrible smell, if her ex-husband only knew, its probably better that he doesnt. True Story...Mark
