Re: few questions?

Jason, Welcome and we would like to help, but we need a Model number to get the year sorted out. Look on the powerhead of the motor for a silver plug(Looks like a small freeze plug on a car) and see if there are any other numbers on there. What brand motor is this, Johnson or Evinrude?...

Re: few questions?

The large plug Rick is talking about will be on the egnine block as he posted although on some occasions folks will remove them for who knows why. You can also find the model number a tag, usually on the port (left) transom bracket. The model and serial number both, will be there.

Re: few questions?

Some of the 40hp engines had the model number on the top of the tilt/swivel bracket - just between the two transom clamps. Have a look up in there too.<br />If that's a Johnson serial number you've got there, then that's likely where you'll find it.
