I have Hummingbird 3D vista and having problem keeping
correct depth reading. When I first power up, it works fine then
bit later depth goes to 1 or 2 ft. Power it down and up again and
it works for awhile. do I have unit problem or transducer problem?
Hummingbird says they no longer repair 3D vista and couldn't really tell me
if I have 3D Vista problem or the transducer problem. If I can't get this
fixed, I guess might have to find me a ff/gps.. know of any good ones ?

Re: ff depth problem

Does this happen only with the engine running? If so, it might be electrical interference from the engine. Is the transducer "kicked up". It shoud be shooting straight down. Check connectors for loose/corroded wires/pins.

Re: ff depth problem

it happens even though engine is off.. when I messed around with transducer
it happened too. Found that transducer might have been bit loose, so I tightened it, but it still have same problem.
