Re: fiberglass anchor pulpit

Terrulle, don't know if this will help, but I've made a few rudders for sail boats by taking a flat piece of stainless then sandwiching it between two slabs of foam.. glass the whole thing in sand fair and gelcoat... not the easiest way but it will turn out very strong....

Re: fiberglass anchor pulpit

It's actually a copy of a pulpit off of a Grady White that had hurricane damage from the past hurricanes. The original was snapped in half and I could'nt find another one anywhere. I found the same boat locally and got the dimensions off of it. Made a one-off mold out of cheap material, then layed it up. The orange "core" is Seacast, which is that transom replacement stuff. Hope it lasts. I guess we'll see.....There is alot of glass in it so it should be OK. But I thought that it came out pretty good. Nobody has been able to tell that it's not original.

bhm sorry for hijacking your thread.....T

Drewpster,
I added a few more photos to the project. I still need to photograph the original mold that I built and add captions to the photos. Sorry that I haven't gotten back to you Here is the link T. .http://www.shareaproject.com/pages/invitation,i,125,00.html"
