I did mine on a budget so I used some oil/alkyd (yellow) paint I had already, for the top of the Kayak.
I wanted something a bit tougher for the bottom, so I went for something a little different. It is a industrial floor paint that is chemical, salt water and oil proof. It was described as being for all types of metal, concrete, wood, fiberglass, plastic and could be used in heavy traffic areas including those with forklift traffic. So I thought it would suit the purpose. It did take longer to dry though and only comes in grey.
Both were applied with the roll & tip method and it turned out OK. I hate this method though, I like to spray, the results are just more professional looking.
