Fiberglass Hull Paint?

I own a 16' Tiderunner and the previous owner let it sit in salt water over the summer. Anyway, the bottom of the boat was covered with barnacles. I spent all day today scraping those miserable @#$%^^"s off the hull. My question is what type of paint should I use on the hull? I'm not ever going to leave it in the saltwater for any period of time. Does this matter? Thanks in advance.

Re: Fiberglass Hull Paint?

If you are planning to trailer the boat rather than keep it in the water you can use any paint for the bottom you would like. The stuff will never have time to stick.
I would however recommend using a paint for below the waterline applications, but any marine finish will be fine as long as you are trailering the boat and prep the surface correctly.
How you prep it is going to depend on what brand and type of paint you select to do the job. Every main stream marine paint brand, (Interlux, Awlgrip ect.) has extensive resources for using their products.
