Re: fiberglass repair...please help

Does anyone know what type of paint to buy to brush on a trailer? I just want it black...so is there one brand that is preferred? Thanks in advance for your reply.

I have not yet fixed the cuts in the sides....yet. I still am finishing up the gel coat and when I get down to the bottom I will pay close attention to it. Thanks all for your help.

For painting the trailer I used Tremclad. Had the boat off the trailer and went at it with a wire brush and scraper. Flipped it over and did the bottom as well. Removed as much loose scale and rust as possible then wipe everything down with paint thinner or varsol. Brush or roll on the Tremclad and your done. Took me and my two boys one afternoon and the junky looking trailer now looks almost brand new.

Hi Saskatoon, I posted a pic of my trailer so you could see how my fenders have been cut and covered to act as guides. I never miss! The carpeted pad is nothing more than 3/4 inch plywood and trailer carpet. Just an idea, I hope whatever you do turns out great. Good luck.

BTW, I didn't do that to my trailer, It's factory original.
