Hi,
I was wondering if laying fiberglass in damp cool weather is a no no?
I have the boat in a portable garage and will be working with a heat lamp. It is about 11 degrees celsius or 52 F out side.
So will the damp weather have any effect with the poly curing?
I thank you for your help.

Polyesters are not recommended for use below 60*F, but with a heat lamp you have no problems. Cold and humid weather slows the cure, sometimes to the point of creating problems, many times you'll never see them, but an under cured laminate will be weaker and less water resistant.

Keep the lamp back a ways from the layup, you just want to warm it, not cook it.

Thanks ondarvr,
I will put the lamp away from the lay-up.
This afternoon the weather network say's 13*C and partly sunny so a little better conditions. I am trying to get some of the work done before it's just to cold to do it.
Thanks again

Did it last night just before a huge storm hit, glassed a new ply transom backwall then poured a seacast into it.
I left it with halogens under a popup 10x10 tent, this morning the tent is 40 feet away.! 30 mph winds gusting to 50.
Took a pic with my cellphone, seacast was getting warm so I went to bed.
It set up fine. temps were around 55.

Glad to here that it went well. It would kill me wondering if all my work and $ were for nothing while looking out the window at 30 mph winds  Wish I was that brave.
