I have noticed that you really do have some experienced Ficht people here,
so, here is my problem. I have two 175 '98 Johnson Fichts, with all the upgrades in done in '99. Replaced both solenoids, oil pumps, r/r lower units a couple of times and everything has gone great. This year, both engines started right up, changed filters, regapped plugs (<40 hours) so all seemed well. The starboard engine then proceeded not to start. Fuel was up to the fuel filter on the engine, spark was detected but did not fire. I then gave each barrel a quick shot of starting fuel and started right up, ran it and it was fine. Any ideas? The boat is Ocean City Md and the closest repair guy in about 20 miles away in Delaware so if I can figure out what it is, I hope to fix it myself. Thanks for any help or advice.
