Would anyone on here be familiar with code 38s NO OIL on a FICHT 200hp 1999
Pressure sensor checks out OK within specs and opens (infinity) above 5psi oil pressure yet the EMM falsely declares code 38 (missing oil pulses after x min/seconds) .

oil pumps OK no wire chaffing on pressure sensor wiring but goes code 38 at start up

thanks

how did you test oil pump? they are dirt cheap now brand new OEM thankfully. they had an upgraded/superceded pump might want to compare part #'s between yours and the newer one

not mine ....just asking... owner stated he get's enough pressure (PSI) to cause the sensor to open as it should. for some reason the EMM declares code38 which normally indicates missing pulses. With justa single wire to the sensor seems that sensor must provide some form of pulsing ground signal to the EMM . the sensor was changed same thing. EMMM could be flaky of course !
I suggested he looks at the sense wire with a scope or a simple 12v LED across the wire and B+ .. it should blink with pulses.
I checked his old pots and yes oil pump was swapped with a spare.

looked up oil inj pump... 950U$ !!

sounds like good advice. the pump is $25 or so on ebay usually unless there is something expensive about this one. yea the list price is crazy!
