There's a guy in town that's selling an "early 80s Johnson 70hp Seahorse" that I'm considering as a back up/parts motor for my 1984 70hp Johnson. He says he can't find the plate that contains the model number but has supplied two numbers from above the cylinders. Is it possible to get the model number/ year of the motor from these numbers?

The numbers he gave me are:
1. 397125
2. 39521D1

Thanks!

tell him to look for disc on the block usually on top near the cylinder head.
