Filled Engine Transom Mount Holes

Hello. Just looked to know if this is an OK repair. Filled transom engien mount holes, drilled them out to 3/4" due to hole irregularity, used epoxy resin on 3/4" dowels and inserted into holes. I left perhaps 1/8" to 1/4" space on either side of dowel for epoxy filler.

Is this OK?

It sounds good it the wood was dry after you boared them out to the larger size.

That's what I'm doing except using 5/8" dowel and 3M 5200. I'm not planning on leaving a space because I'll have to grind the fiberglass down and the dowel will go down with it.
