1994 Four Winns 180 horizon, 5.0 carbed eng, SX I/O. OK, just getting ready to put her in storage for the winter, and was wondering if there are any last items I'm missing- I'm paranoid about the block or drive freezing. I got a factory FSM and followed the draining instructions, surprising how much water came out, especially out of the manifolds.
1. changed the drive lube and engine oil
2. stabilized the fuel, fogged the engine
1. drained manifolds
2. drained block, both sides.
3. pulled both hoses off the raw water pump
4. drained the pivot housing
5. repacked the wheel bearings and fixed the brakes
6. Battery out, drive in down position
the power steering cooler is upstream from the water pump, and points down, so that should drain well.
Just to be safe, I poured 2 gallons of RV antifreeze, most in the block through the recirculating water pump, and some into each manifold through the hoses on the thermostat, and some into the raw water pump. I then turned over the engine a few times. I checked, and antifreeze does come out the block drain plugs.
Sorry, the thought of my boat sitting in a freezing barn all winter in Minnesota is giving me the willies. Did I miss anything?
thanks, Eric
