Ok I am so excited to get this thing home on Friday! Ive been looking for a long long time for an aluminum boat to work on with my 12 year old daughter. A local shop went belly up and was forclosed on. Every thing went up for auction. So I am looking at all the old piles of boats for sale and came acrossed this one. Long and short of it is I got it for $78.00 with the trailer which isnt in bad shape. No motor but thats the easy part. This will be a complete refurbish. I am in need of some information for this boat. Does any one have any idea what year this is. Any information on this sea king would be great! Of cousre there is no coast guard plate on it nor can I find a HIN#
Thanks!

Agreed, welcome to the Starcraft club. That is an early 60s Jupiter, Nassau or Jet. Kinda depends on the length and the transom to be sure.

GREAT deal on her, congratulations:D

Very cool that you are going to work on the rig with the family, it's a great way to spend some quality time and have something gorgeous to show for it(6-10 months later;)).

Check out the early 60s Starcraft brochures(linked in my signature) and with some measurements I'm sure we can identify the model.

I am already the owner of a starcraft boat and I love them. The thing that is throwing me off a little is the fact that it says seaking on the side. I know starcraft built alot of boats for other companys. I think you folks are right it looks like a jupiter to me as well. I will post more pics as soon as I get it home on friday.

Good luck on your project! Im sure your daugther will remember it forever! Im also doing a similar restoration with my 9 yr old daughter, (on a '69 Sea Raider) and she just loves spending time in the garage, helping me with projects. She's even come up with a name for it! Time spent that is priceless and short but well worth it! Keep us updated.

The only problem with working with my daughter is she wants to paint every thing orange. I am not fond of orange. Other than that its going to be fun/

First boat I redid was a 15ft Seaking, but it was all Starcraft. Seaking was the Wards brand, but obviously Wards didnt make their own boats.

Re: Finally an old tinny that I can work on with my daughter

Well tomorrow is the big day. I feel like a kid on christmas eve. My daughter wants to skip school to go pick it up with me but I said no (mean old man). The only problem is it has a lock on the tongue latch and its one of those master tongue latch locks going to take for ever to get it off but it will come off. Im a fire fighter with access to the jaws of life. That will get er done lol. Ill post more pics of it when I get her home.

$78..... What a sweet deal. It looks like it's in pretty good shape!! So the Sea Kings were made by Starcraft?? That means I belong to the Starcraft Club!!

Can't wait to see more pics and progress. :)

That would have to be decided by the governing body of the Starmada. :D

Re: Finally an old tinny that I can work on with my daughter

Ok so I took a few measurements to see if I can make out what model this is. The only thing I could get off of the of the metal sticker of of the transom was the model number of 60-9042. The transom width is 65" from outside to outside. The transom height is 16" measured in the middle following the angle of the transom. I could probably get another 2 inches if measuring straight down. the overall length from transom to bow cap is 16'. This boat dosnt even come close to the measurments of the 1963 jupiter i seen in the brochures. Any one got any idea what I have? Also the max hp rating is 75hp. Which would be great if I could find one in a short shaft to fit the transom. I could build up the transom straight across which would give me a 21" transom which is what the transom measured on the outside. I have a 60hp Mercury complete and rebuilt to put on it but dont know if I can because of the transom height.
