Finally did it... Got a boat!!

So some of you may have seen my post about selling a motorcycle and buying a boat... well.. it all finally happened... and WAY quickly.

I got a call at the end of the day at work from a guy wanting to come see the bike, he arrived at my house at 6pm, by 6:30 he was driving away with the bike on a trailer, and by 9:30pm a boat was sitting in my driveway!! I'm uber excited.

Its an 18" Bayliner Capri 2.3 liter/OMC Cobra

Its not a perfect boat for sure, but the engine/outdrive are solid and functioning perfectly, been winterized and maintained well. She will be getting a new deck/stringers this winter and the wife is going to tackle the recovering all the seats

I am beyond excited and expect to have lots of questions as this is my first boat.

Congrats and enjoy all the work before the fun begins. :facepalm: There is a restoration section here that is loaded with folks that can help and advise, so get the resto thread started.

I've already spent far too much valuable time (down time at work) in the resto forum.. haha

Very nice. Let me know how the upholstery goes. I want to change the color of the interior on mine. I imagine it takes a pretty heavy duty sewing machine. Good luck and enjoy the restore!

Congrats, that is how I got my current boat also, had a CBR 600 that I was sure I was going to kill myself on so I sold it, my car and the wifes car, got her a new one of coarse , and used the money to buy a truck and boat, probably the best thing I ever did, I do miss the bike though, it was FAST.

You did not mention anything about the engine or the outdrive. Did you check that out at all? When you are ready to start your restore we can help.

Congrats and welcome! Now, get that thing out on the water as much as you can with what is left of the good weather. I will see you over on the restore forum this winter. As you probably have already seen, there have been a bunch of Capris redone over there.

actually... I did... teehee Engine/Outdrive work fine and have been regularly serviced.
