Finally found one!

After a ton of searching and looking at a few lemons, I finally found the perfect boat for our family. I picked up a '96 192 Limited with the 4.3, and I couldn't be more excited. We've been searching for a replacement for our older runabout for a while now, and after narrowing down our needs and wants we stumbled across this gem. It needs a little TLC, but ultimately it is the boat that fits us best. The interior has been freshened up a little, the motor runs strong and has great compression. The stern drive isn't beautiful, but it goes in and out of gear smoothly and runs well. Of course there are blemishes here and there, but for a 15 year old boat it looks better than any other boat I've looked in its age range. The Bryant is truly an outstanding vessel. I can see this boat sticking with the family for quite some time. I'm super excited. It needs a bath, but it's still beautiful to me.

Congratulations. Way to be patient and find the gem you were looking for. From the pics it appears a little soap and water ought to do the trick appearance wise. Enjoy.

i agree with the bath but other than that it is one good looking boat.. better enjoy it!

Thanks! We've already started cleaning it up a little. When we've got a little more stable weather, we're really going to get into it. So far, aside from some stitching pulling a little in the rear seat, and a minor tear in one of the bow cushions, it's in spectacular shape. I think the previous owner only reupholstered the rear seat back and sun deck, but it matches well. I can't wait to get it on the water!!!

I don't know if you know this but Bryants are VERY close to TOP of the line. Nice boat.

Clean nice boat. Jealous. Maybe not... I have different boating goals.

It just would be nice to buy something someday that was clean and running well LOL

exmobee - Prior to deciding on buying this I didn't really know their quality. It was only after looking at other boats of a more entry level quality that I found this one. Ironically, I was at the boat show in OKC in January and after climing in, on, and around all the boats there, there was only one I told my wife that I could see us buying if we bought new. It was a Bryant 196.

I can't recommend going to a boat show highly enough for a prospective boat buyer. I was able to see what I wanted and didn't want all in one place.

Mark - With that screen name I'd imagine you're more into fishing I've bought a couple of less clean, and not so good running boats. This time I went in with a plan! Live and learn I guess.

Some Elbow Grease Inside and out will do your Boat Nicely.

When I bought my boat a couple of weeks ago everything was in Great shape but needed a good inside and out cleaning. I spent two full days cleaning the Carpet, Upholstery, compound wax and Polish the outside. I detailed the heck out of it. My boat looks brand new.

Bryants are great boats! That boat will last a long time.
