Thanks guys! The PO showd me records of when he had the boat serviced with new impeller, gear lube, ect., so that put my mind at ease. DaNinja, thanks for the tips. I didn't know poorly trated wood was used back there. Do you have any pics of your boat? I'd love to see it. Yall take care!

I don't have much on this computer.

This is before and after as I was working on the gelcoat and prior to the trailer rehab.

These are the areas where I ran into issues on our Ray.

If water gets in there and the boat is parked on a lateral slope, the water will pool in the corners and eat the wood. Our layouts are different, but that's basically where I was talking about.

Thanks for the info. Nice boat BTW! I see it has a Ski Dock sticker on it...Did you buy it from there, and is it the one in Austin on 620?

Thanks. All she needs now is a motor.

We're the 3rd owner. My roommate was the 2nd so the boat has been in the household since '97.
She did originally come from the Ski Dock in Austin.

Very nice boat.

Yup a new stainless steel prop........ some minor aluminum repairs on the outdrive...... Check the bellows!

I will also tell you to repack the wheel bearings on that trailer.

Thanks! The bearings were repacked although the PO drove it from Weatherford, TX to Smithville, about a 4-5 hr trip. They weren't bad but needed servicing. Now if we could just get rid of this winter crap so I can go use the boat! I'll go out right now, but I'm not sure the family would!!

Sorry for the double post but I forgot to ask if anyone knows where to find a factory spec sheet for my boat? Thanks

Congrats on the new rig, the interior looks very comfy. The speeds sounds pretty good for a heavy boat too, I'm sure she's fun to cruise with.

Good luck and if you do have any issues this is the best place to ask some questions:D

The best thing is, the little one loves it! I don't think I'm gonna get a lot of driving time this summer! lol ;)

Re: Finally got an new (to me) boat!!!

i dont know what you guys are taking about....the boat is carp !

to the OP.......sorry ......you got ripped off !.:(

however.....being the nice guy that i am.....i will drive all the way down from canada and refund your money (less costs) and take that badly damages sea spray off your hands ! :D

congrats bud.....

however......the damage on the skeg/anti vent plate/ stainless wheel has me a little worried...someone really whacked that boat....you cannot tell a bent shaft from looking at it....it needs a potentiometer.

however....that is minor. but i would also do a check on the transom......but outside of that .........any one would love to own that boat !
check in on the restoration forum to see other tips on the gellcoat (paint) and other ways you can make that boat shiney and new.....
btw....the trailer is worth a grand easy......the motor....3000 used. and the hull the way it sits can be parted out for another grand = SCORE

cheers
oops

Thanks for the kind words guys!! Oh and oops, there is no way this boat is getting parted out or anywhere but the water! Next week I'm gonna have the prop shaft checked and get the prop reworked. Other than those two things there is nothing that I can tell that the boat needs. I was surprised that there was no vibration when I took it out. But regardless, it's getting fixed before the next outing!
