i havent put my boat in the water with out the trailer. i just got it today.... i know my boat is a 15 foot. and it runs awesome but would rather turn it by key then by wire...... i also havent check to see if the throttle evern works i know the choke does thats about it. but taking it one step at a time

funny you shoud ask because icut off a set of jumpercables and ran them to the front of the boat and ben starting it that way since ive ownd it...LOL redneck style...as for schematics all i can say is do a search on google and there is a site that you can order a cd with any schematics you need i just cant remember the site

yeppers thats sure redneck style and thats how i grew up but would still like the pleasure of starting it with a key.... that way ppl dont look at me all mest up up here

keep looking like i said there is one site you can get it on cd and i think it was only 13 or 14 $ and you even get access to online scematics for free if you get the cd i just cant remember where it was

It's easy to properly install a starter circuit even without the original controls...

You need to identify just a couple of items on the motor and then buy a generic key style, springloaded starter switch...

All a starter switch does is 3 things...

You have the ignition circuit, the starter circuit, and the open (which is off).

When you turn the key to "ON" it closes the circuit for the ignition (the positive voltage to the coils) which supplies power to the ignition... when you engage the springloaded portion it closes the circuirt to the starter by engaging the "starter" by means of a relay or starter solonoid (which supplies the batter voltage to the starter motor)...

When it springs out of this position, it opens the starter circuit (which kills the power to the starter motor)..

When you turn the key "off" it opens all the circuits so there is no power being supplied to anything.

hey thanks.... ill try to take alot of pics of everything tomarrow afternoon. i know there is a power wire to the key cuz the light on the dash comes on.
