Finally got the boat out last night with new motor looking for breakin feedback

Well I bought a motor from rapido marine 5.7 and had it all in and had so many problems along the way but got them all taken care of. Then it rained and rained and the lake was 19.5 feet of summer pool and they finally got it back down yesterday to beably to get to the docks. So last night I went out and putted around for 3.50 hours. Rapido marine told me nothing over 2500 rpm for the first 10 hours. But at 2500 rpm I can not get it up on plane or stay up on plane. I kept changing rpms between 1000-2500 in that 3.5 hours yesterday. But the boat ran great and all gauges read perfect all night.
What kind of rpms and time you guys do with a rebuilt motor?

Give it some gas to get on plane. Once planed, vary the rpm during cruise. I would keep her 4000 and under for a bit. 10 hrs should be good. Change the oil and filter and have fun this summer

Yep, Get it on plane and reduce RPM is what I would say.
Be sure to change the oil after 10-12 hrs

I was not able to take the boat out over the weekend had my sons birthday party and so much else going on. I am going to try to go this week twice maybe I can get the rest of my time before this weekend so I can use it this weekend.

I got out over the holiday weekend and got the rest of my time on the boat I have 11 hours on it and I got the oil all changed and ready to go back this weekend and see how it does. We are camping and will be boating all weekend. I guess I will see how well it will run and see if I can get some top speed runs and check for prop slip.
