Finally I Get To Take The Boat Out!!

So, I get home from Ohio at 7:30 on Friday night. Saturday I threw the new outdrive on, and went to my mother's birthday party for the rest of the day. So Sunday rolls around, and after repairing the small leak around the gasket (taking outdrive off and on a thousand times, stupid o-ring), I got to take the boat out for a few hours. That was the first time in like two months! It ran great, maybe a little slow and the gauges aren't working, but probably some loose wires. We got on the river, and stopped at a little island, until a storm sent us home early.

So here I am, back in Ohio, wanting to do nothing but go home and throw the boat on the water again. I gotta say, once you are used to going boating every weekend, going through these withdrawals is very difficult. It leads to some bad mood swings.

Glad you got the boat out.
At least down south you have a lot more season to use yours.
Up here in Il, the season is short and starting this weekend, I will only have Sundays to go out. Daughters starting school, and sports practice on Saturdays.

Get those gauges fixed. Tach is the most important visual aid on the boat. Then temp and oil.

As soon as I get back home from Ohio, I plan on checking the gauges. I will be flying home on Friday, Sept 4th, and hopefully take a week vacation then. I gotta fix the gauges, radio (loose wires), and change the impeller, only because I have no clue when it was changed last. The tach is the only gauge that works, but it sure does bounce around a lot.

TD - Are those test drives the "extended" versions? You know, you gotta make sure that there are no complications with the engines. Tell the people that to truly see if the problem is fixed, a minimum three hour test run is mandatory. To be honest, if someone repaired all the issues with my boat for me now, I'd tell 'em have fun for the day. Heck, I can't use the boat for three more weeks anyways.
