I have a 1966 Johnson super sea horse electric 40 hp. There is a small leak, 1-2 drops a day. I can see it on the skeg, but it's hard to locate where exactly it starts. Any ideas, and what can I do to fix it.

On a side note I replaced my broken steering cable (the kind with pulleys) on my 1966 14' fglass runabout by reading the archives and it only took about 20-30 mins.

Are you sure it's not exhaust residue?

The best way to find the leak is to pressure test the L/U.

I'm pretty sure it's not. I can see the exhaust redisue. The residue is more black. This looks and smells like oil and is pretty clean, like when adding fresh oil to your car during an oil change.
