I have spent two hours trying to figure out what gearcase seal kit to order for my 1963 Johnson 40HP RK-25D. That's the Electramatic model. I found the seal kits on iBoats, looks like Sierra is what's offered, and that's fine. But which one? Please help by telling me what part number to order, and maybe even a tip on how to find the correct part number for kits. I can find individual parts pretty easily, I've got the old parts catalog and the parts finder on iShop is great, but the correct number for KITS is a nightmare (carbs kits, waterpump kits, gearcase seal kits, etc.). Also, what sealant number should I order? Sealer 1000 is what the manual calls for. Thanks!

Kits were not an option back when your motor was current.Maybe (probably) aftermarket kits contain all you need, but if you are uncertain which kit, order the parts seperately.

DHP

The Sierra number for the Electric shift is 18-2687.
