Please help. All i seem to be able to find on my cylinder head is 327910 with a 3 below it that. It would be upper right side. The lower cylinder has 10532 with an 02 below it and another 2 below that. This info is all on the opposite side of the starter. Other numbers i was able to find were at the air intake area on metal tags upper one has 393777 mx and the lower has 393778 mx with sak below that. I can see there was once a tag on the inside of the engine cover and also one that was on the transom but its gone too. can anyone help? i just got the motor on a 1979 witchcraft hull and would love to get goin on it. I dont think its the original motor due to the extra holes in the transom of the hull. Thanks Mark

The model and serial numbers are only located in two places, on the transom bracket and on a round quarter-sized disk on the powerhead. If both have been removed, I suppose you can guess why.

It is actually a freeze plug located in the top portion of the block. It's about the size of a quarter and dome shaped. You might have to push aside some wires but 99% of the time it iss right there!

pictures of the motor cover decals and pics of the front, sides, and back of the powerhead might help us get close to determining the exact year.

Is it a cross-flow engine block or a looper? Are there two 2-barrel aluminum carbs or 4 single-barrel black plastic looking carbs?
