Howdy folks, long time between visits these days but...<br />We were cruising through a popular anchorage nearby. My girlfriend and I were sitting on the bridge checking out everyone's boats (from a distance) as we went along. One particular boat caught our attention. A really sharp looking sport fish it was. As we near this thing smoke starts bellowing from the cockpit. We sat momentarily in shock as the smoke became darker and began to trail with the breeze. I throttled up to see if we could assist and my girlfriend got the fire extinguisher. By this time a passing sailor had also turned back to help. With our fire equipment ready and adrenaline flowing we slowed near the back of his boat to begin the evacuation. As the breeze changed direction somewhat, the smoke cleared and standing there was an elderly fella' standing at his barbeque flipping a slab of 'very well cooked' chicken. Smoke just pouring off it! No salmonella there I guess? We almost peed ourselves laughing it was so silly... same with the other would-be rescuer/heros. The ole' guy didn't even batt an eyelash.
