I have had this motor in storage for the last 25 yrs and would like to get it in the water again. Any advice on what I should do to prepare it for service would be greatly appreciated. Especially the proper way to clean out the gas tank.
Thanks!

Tank is full of rust, right? They usually are. remove the filter and plug the hole, then dump in a bottle of plain old isopropyl rubbing alcohol from the grocery store. Toss in a handful of old nuts, replace cap and start shaking. Shake till your arms fall off, then rest aswile and shake it some more. Rinse it out with water.

Trouble is it will rust again unless you go a step further. Get a tank sealer kit and follow the instructions. There are several brands of the kits on the market. Motorcycle shops often have them.
