I just traded for a Firestone 16 HP engine and found out it was made by Scott-Atwater in 1956. It need a little cleaning up and a few parts replaced. Does anybody have any idea what theis motor is worth?

I would pay up to $150 for one of those in pristine condition...meaning it runs well, has no mechanical problems, pumps water, and the original paint is excellent. Scott's are good, stout motors...especially those from the 50's. Value is always subjective and varies alot according to your local market and other variables.

Re: Firestone 16

Thank you for the information. I wanted some idea af what I am getting into.
I got it in a cheap trade and was wondering if it is worth the time and expense to fix up. Right now I am looking for an inexpensieve motor until I can afford something better.

Yea, I had an old 16 Scott like that. Notice the 17mm spark plug hole? What a trip that is.
