First boat and have ???'s

volvo penta pn 850676-8436 serial# 259388 has parts missing what drive would this be ? it has a 4 cyl. motor that is not in the boat}( 21' bayliner capri )hull # bija73cfb585 it seems like alot of boat for a 4cyl.motor would any of those #s confirm its the wright motor <br />Thanks<br />John J

if it has the big 4 cylinder engine i think its about 175 h.p.dont know if only mercruiser used that engine or not.they have a very large cylinder head.also the alternator is built into the lower crankshaft pulley balancer.

Post this question on the Mercruiser/Volvo/OMC repair forum on this site....there's some very knowlegeable people over there who can probably answer your question based on the serial numbers.<br /><br />As for that being a lot of boat for a little motor, I'd agree...but that's typical Bayliner. I have a neighbor with a big old Bayliner cuddy cabin (I don't know the model) that's probably 23 feet long. It has a Volvo 3.0L 4 cylinder as well. And it actually gets on plane once in a while....just takes a long time to get there!

Yup. Under powered by a long shot. I have a 20' boat with a 5.0L V8. Anything less would make it a dog.
