Weird . . . I was gonna post one of these threads today . . . Wife said she saw one last week, so I hung my feeders on Friday. Saw two yesterday working it, but never really looked on Sat. No wars yet though. Will report back.

I use my Insta hot at 1:1 to melt the sugar and then add R.O. water for the remaining parts which cools it and I go directly to the feeder. I use no color.

BTW, I figured out a way to clean the glass when it gets those little sugar mold spots. I throw some coarse sand in the bottle with some water and swirl the mixture violently. Works very well.

I can get 180* water from the tap, so I just mix and go.

I use the same cleaning treatment on the bottles that QC does.

Red must be their favorite cause all store bought feed is red when mixed.
It is around here anyway.

Hummingbirds are very seldom seen around my house...... as a matter of fact I have not seen too many birds and the feeder seems to be empty!

I do have this friendly barn cat that visits........

That is a very employed barn cat who is probably within a week of having kittens again..... she comes over and patrols for mice outside and gets a bowl of food. The most friendly barn cat we have seen in years. Yes, very healthy and VERY sharp on all 4 corners!
