Ok everyone, so I am prepping to take my boat on a 2 hour road trip with me to a friends camp for the July 4th week.
My vehicle and boat are in the signature line, and I have a hustler single axle trailer that my boat goes on. I had some issues this year with not greasing bearings and ruining / destroying a bunch of stuff (expensive lesson to learn :facepalm
, which actually led to a whole bunch of repairs on my trailer. So all the bearings are replaced new brakes and a whole new actuator on the front of the trailer after the start of the years adventure.
Other than those repairs I do plan on buying a spare trailer tire and throwing it in the boat for the trip (when I get home I will probably order a spare tire holder to mount on the trailer).
Besides the obvious checks of the trailer that I should look for before I go on a short trip to the launch, is there any extra preparation you guys do for a longer trip?
I also have on snap on bow cover and cockpit cover that are on the boat, I planned on leaving these on during the trip, is that a bad idea or should I strap them down to be sure they don't come off?
Any input / tips would be helpful
