Hello All
I am new to the forum and I have always believed there is no such thing as a dumb question if you really want to know the answer. I just purchased a 2000 Nitro with a 115 HP tracker marine engine. I did not get any of the factory manuals with this boat so my big question is do I have a Mercury outboard or brand X? Also does all Mercury have that "You got a problem in the lower unit sound" when you put this engine in gear? This is my first Mercury ( So I am thinking that is the brand) but none of all my past Johnsons made or had lower unit noise when shifting from forward to reverse. Also does anyone know if there were numerous or any factory service recalls on these engines. This boat only has about 40 hours on it.
