Well, I just wanted to thank everyone as I read most of the posts here before making my big purchase. I was a little leery about purchasing a pontoon boat (always been a v-hull ind of guy) but everyone here seemed to enjoy their toons, so I took the plunge myself. We picked her up Friday evening and spent the whole weekend on her, and other than the speed issue (I'm used to going faster) I'm very impressed! Here she is when we picked her up.

Again, thank you all for helping me make up my mind...even if you didn't know you were doing so!

@trout74 - It is brand spanking new. I got the 90 EFI Four Stroke and man is it quiet. I keep hearing water running and realize its the engine peeing, which is strange to me as I then realize the motor is indeed running.

@Incoop - I plan on updates soon. I'm going to post some videos and such as I was constantly looking for more data when I was deciding and noticed that no one had any performance tests of the 2011 Regency anywhere, so I want to provide some to help others who want to purchase one.

Great! I agress the 4 stroke is quiet. I have a 75, its the same motor as yours just different electronics. Not only is it quiet, but its a mizer too. I can run all day, on a mix of tubing, putzing, and playing, and most I have burned in a day is 6 gallons. SO yours should be similiar, likely a tad faster. NICE BOAT!

Heh, I burnt 18 gallons Saturday on it. Spent about 8 hours on the water running at different speeds breaking in the motor. Max speed with 5 people was 21 MPH, WOT. I'm checking on the prop as tracker recommends 14x13, but the dealer put a 14x17 on it. WOT was only 5700 RPM with the 5 people on board, but ran it with 3 on board Sunday and WOT hit 6000 RPM with only 1-2 MPH more.

Strangely enough your rpms sound right on although I would never think a 17p would get you that high. What length is your toon and 2 or 3 logs?

For prop related questions I would ask " Incoop " he told me a month ago what prop I would need, and three props later I have the prop he suggested. He might be a wizard RPMs are what the manual says.

Nice toon Noggin. Always loved the way "Tracker" restyled the sweeping fence line around the bow. Any ideas yet on what to name her ??? Where will you guys be boating ?

Your dealer probably asked you what your average passenger compliment would be and I'd bet you said "The three of us". He propped you perfectly. The important part is to let the engine run. You want it to be able to hit 6000 rpm no matter what the load. The tach is there for when your load is light and if you pay attention to it and do not exceed 6000 rpm your engine will last it's normal lifetime. It's roughly 200 rpm per inch of pitch or diameter. I would bet that when the boat is fully loaded with passengers and gear, a 14x13 prop will still let your engine reach 6000 rpm. So, disconnect the speedometer, watch the tach and go enjoy your beautiful new toon.

Yeah, we loved the looks of this one too. We've had a few ideas on names, nothing has stuck though. My wife says to name her "He Thinks its His", or since I own my own business maybe "The Other Office" so when people call for me they can be told "He's in the Other Office today" or something like that. Still open for suggestions!

Actually we discussed it some and told them the average would be about 6 as we got the toon to entertain our friends. Oddly enough, this model doesn't have a speedo, I just clocked it on the GPS first time out to see what I could expect. I try to keep it around 4500-5000 RPM when cruising as I figure that *should* be about right.

Not sure if Suntracker puts speedos on any of their boats. Most boat speedos are historically so far off that people use a GPS.
