It's hot in Southern Indiana so I got a wild hair (pun intended) and shaved my beard of 15 years. The first pic is after I "let" it go for 6 months.
Second pic is me chin naked.:eek:

I didn't know I had waddle chins!!! Guess I'll grow it back as soon as the weather turns colder.

It doesn't look like the same man! Are you sure that isn't a stunt man on the lower picture?

Same hat!! They both must be me. When I shaved fifteen years ago I introduced myself to my neighbor as my brother. I don't have a brother. Didn't matter. He really thought I was someone else.
My younger son was about 10 years old and refused for days to acknowledge that this shaven man was his dad.:D

Hmmmmm. Haven't shaved mine in 42 years. Wonder what I would look like without it.

Not gonna find out, either. :)

What a stunning differential!!
Both shots look good, but I tend to think you looked a little more "non-conforming" with the beard....just my opinion.

Is that a picture of a salmon jumping, on your shed?.....if it is, it looks identical to one my brother painted on the side of his '55 Chev panel van" (with no side windows past the front doors one). Painted it deep burgandy and half circled the picture with his business name in gold.

Like the T-shirt.....well the black and white picture. Don't see anything like that down here. I'd wear something like that.

Thanks for the photos.
Cheers
Phillip

Kiwi Phil.

The placard on my Man Cave/Boat Barn is of a largemouth bass. It's a metal Heddon lure sign.

And uh matey, it's a Man Cave/Boat Barn, not a shed:p

Re: First shave in 15 years

I got rid of my mustache a couple of months ago - I had it for 36 years! The first thing that was totally funny was in learning how to shave over my upper lip without slicing myself up! The second thing was that, since I am out in the boat a lot, the rest of my face was pretty well tanned, while the area under the "stash" wasn't! I was sort of a funny lookin' dude for a couple of weeks!

My new friend likes it this way though - she's just not a mustache kissin' girl and ... well ... she's a really good kisser so .................... :D

Man, you gained 15 years. If either of your parents is still with us, they're gonna love it.

Many years ago, I shaved a beard that I'd had for some time. Momma, who's no longer with us, was so joyful she started to cry.

when i was in college, i worked for my dad construction company. if i wanted a raise, all i had to do was get a hair cut. he hated long hair. after i retired i grew a pony tail, just to irritate him. finally cut it off.

Re: First shave in 15 years

Even though I'm not that old, I still haven't found what I like best on me, goatee, a handle bar mustache, a full beard, or nothing at all. I think I look alright with a handle bar mustache or a goatee.

My father had a full beard and sholder length hair for years while he drove over the road (while I was growing up). One day I came home from school (years back) and he had it all cut off hair included he had gotten a flat top (which I had for a while myself). Now a days I cut my own hair. All I can say is my father was lucky I knew who he was when I came home or might of called the cops :D.

It is amazing how many people wear a beard to cover of face scars.

Watch out Tyme2fish you might have a time with dry skin, or you might be alright. I know of a man who shaved his beard off and had dry skin all over his face from the skin not being use to sun exposure.

Harsh!! I think Tyme2fish looks good either way...of course, I'm comparing him to me who can't have a picture taken without the "ugly filter". LOL :D

Anyone else notice the "Google Ads" that this thread generated. I don't know if everyone sees the same ads but the "Leave It To My..." ad that's displayed to the right of Tyme's shaven picture....:D

Maybe waxing is the next step...

Re: First shave in 15 years

My first and only beard started when I was in the Navy. Was able to keep it going for 25 years until I got this last job. Boss lady has a NO BEARD rule. Maybe she needs to spend many hours on the roof working on her equipment during the winter just to find out how cold a face can get especially when the wind is blowing,,,,,,,,HARD!
