Hello my name is Scott. My brother in law gave me a boat. This is the first boat I've ever owned. It's a 1987 Nordic crestliner commander 16, with a 25hp mercury and a prowler 50 trolling motor. I'm going to use it as a fishing boat. It needs new floor and benches. My first question is what kind of plywood to use? I was going to use PT plywood but then seen that is a no-no on aluminum boats. Is there any other kind of plywood except for marine plywood? Thanks. And I will have a a lot more questions as I get more involved in it. I'll post pics once I learn how.

Does anyone know anything about this trolling motor? What kind of connector do I need to get for it. The last owner had a 3 prong plug on it. And then a drop cord ran to back of boat.

it really depends on if you want to do full resto or get on the water, but if time and money permits I would strip it down get everything off then fill with water check for leaks first , make sure its sound , then rebuild transom add new wood and have yourself a nice lil boat. foam might be waterlogged you can check by taking a piece of copper pipe drive it slowly "by hand" in pull a plug of it out and check bottom for water. as far as wiring the trolling motor there should be a model /serial number someplace on it I would look it up and then google it and see if that leads you to info you need

I've had it on the water one time. Everything looked fine. I can't find anything on the trolling motor. All the stickers are worn off. And yea I'm just doing enough to get it on the water and go fishing. I'm not restoring it completely

Do NOT use Pressure Treated. Any ACX/BCX exterior grade plywood will get the job done. It must be sealed with something. Epoxy resin is the best, Polyester resin with CSM glass is 2nd best. If you keep her covered in the off season and do good maintenance you can use this...

My local Lowes did not have the exterior grade BCX at 3/4". Home Depot had a way better inventory of all things wood. I got all the structural plywood thus far at HD.
