Re: first time Carb Rebuild any Pointers

They should. They're usually sort of a black color. However, the most important thing is that the packing rings, which are made out of a sort of redish cardboard-type material, are sandwiched between the small metal barrel and the brass nut. As fuel fills the carb passages, the packings swell to from an air tight seal. The nylon washers are mostly there to protect the packings from getting crushed too badly.

Here's a pic of your carb kit. The packings are surrounded by the yellow triangle and the nylon washers have red boxes around them.Again, the packings are to be sandwiched between the nylon washers, which are in turn, to be sandwiched between the brass nut and small metal barrel.

Thanks I found them in Package should I remove the low speed needle and replace with the correct washers? I put packing ring then barrel packing ring then brass nut. I am sure I can get these parts back out.

No, the barrel goes in first, then the nylon washer, then packing, then another nylon washer, then the brass nut. The lo speed needle then passes through all of them and threads into the barrel. As you tighten the brass nut, the nylon washers and packing are "sandwiched" between the barrel and the brass nut to form an air tight seal. Use this link to help dial it in once it's reassembled.

Thanks for info reassembled lo speed needle today and it seems to operate a lot smoother than before. Now I just need to fix a couple more issues so I can re test the reuild on the carb.
