Albert, looks fantastic! All your hard work has paid off, I like the rear bench seat too. An excellent project, thanks for posting all your progress and tips.

I've seen that bench seat too, and yeah, it's pretty expensive, BUT it looks FANTASTIC in that beautiful boat. It's cool that it fit in there so well. :D

Excellent work BB.

I think you should go for that one on ebay that you posted a while back. Imagine what you could do with it, especially if you brighten up all that wood!

It looks like it didn't sell, so maybe you could get a hold of the seller and make him an offer?

Cheers bud!

Still detailing. Began on the port lower rub rail. Discovered it slid out very easily. Set up a high tech table (patent applied for) to attack it with fine steel wool and whatever cleaner wound up in my hand. Whatever the PBO used to tone down the bright red to a more burgundy to match the newer burgundy deck paint was really tough. Took me 3 hours to do 9 feet and I have another to do. Pleased with outcome even though it is bright red. Finished with an application of UV inhibiting vinyl dressing.

Nice work, tedious but worth it, looks good. I lucked out on mine the PO{s} had just painted it over{at least three times lol}, a sander and wire wheel stripped it in no time...rub rail is soooo expensive to buy new :(

Looks fantastic. Mine is real nasty, so this gives me hope; I have red and white, I don't expect much from the white.

Re: First time old boat owner ?s

New (to me) boat port. My neighbor is downsizing (I should be too!) and I made him an offer on a car port in his yard. Only had to move it about 100 feet.

First task was to pull up the 8 long rebar pins holding the thing in place. Tried mounting my car jack upside down on a 4X4 and putting it on posts and using it to pull instead of push. Great idea but I put far more pressure on it than even lifting my car, so I abandoned it. Wound up using a heavy duty crow bar. The key to it was to spin them. That broke the rust core that secured them in the hole. Huffed and puffed to get them out. Lost pics of screw jack rig.

I envisioned skidding the 20X12X10 structure into place using the side runners. Asked a neighbor with a small tractor (note to self, buy him lunch) if he would help. Put a spreader 2X4 at end and chained the base to a hydraulic lift. We picked it up about half foot and he began to pull it. Slid like stuff out of a goose. Even turned easily. We were on pretty flat ground so that helped a lot. He moved so fast I could not get my camera into video mode so all I have is stills. We nudged it a bit to place it on white painted strips of new location. I love it when things go exactly as you plan them. It's rare. So here are a few pics. More are at my photobucket site.

Great new home for the boat! Celebrate the smooth-going results, it doesn't happen that way very often!!
