I built a cradle today will finish it tomorrow morning. After that the stringers are coming out and start sanding the in side of the hull. I have knee surgery on July 12 so I will be down for awhile. Look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Just build a lift to get yourself in and out of the boat, and grind away LOL. On a serious note, don't forget to get a grinder from Harbor Freight you can use for this project and then toss. Good time with the 4th coming up, should have a descent sale

I am going to try and get the transom in and a layer of 1708 down before surgery. I had a slight twist in the hull but I was able to get it out with the cradel on the trailer I am very pleased with how to came out hopefully that after the old stringers are out and sanding the layer of new cloth will take out the memory of the hull. Any thoughts. Thanks for all the advice.

If you are using EEEEEEEEppppooooooxxxxxxxy then no 1708, just 1700. You can use it but it is for nothing and you will suck up more poxy then you need. If your going with POLY wants a Cracker then that's just recommended.
You go Capt.!;)

Kcassells I want to thank you for your time and advice. Will you please explain to me why that most all say 1708, yes I am using west system epoxy I can get without a big shipping bill , 1700 cloth will give enough strength for the stringers as well???

Thanks Kcassells, I copy. Well got all but one of the stringers out today, found something that I have to fix their are stingers setting directly on the gel coat in a few spots so a layer of 17oz cloth and a layer of 7.5 I do believe are in order. Any thoughts on putting the two layers down. I am thinking of stability and strength. Some water that I run gets pretty skinny with a lot of rock, not that I plan on running aground poopoo happens.

I will get some more up in a few. After I got the old stringers out and cleaned the dust out what I thought was gel is the old glue they had bedded the stringers with. So it will be two layers of 17. Start the grinding in the a.m.

Here's a brain storm, the boat has I guess you call it a false keel from the bow back about two thirds. When I exposed the keel under the fuel tank it was full of dirt and water. The bow section has a stringers dead center. ??? Can I make a paste with a good waterproof glue and saw dust and fill that before I glass the inside of the hull. The bow section is very narrow and may be quite hard tho tab in. Any thoughts. It was glassed over before just hollow.

Thank you for the advice to both of you WOG, Kcassells, since I am laying 2 sheets over the bottom of the hull and using epoxy can I get by with poly resin to fill the keel providing the prep work for the rest 17 oz is done properly, just trying to shave the cost some. Thanks

2 sheets of what? I don't know what you are referring to. You still did not shoot a pic of the keel area you are talking about so I don't know how to answer your question.
