First timer here changing points

I have changed my old worn out points with a new tune up kit for a '89 3.0L alpha one merc. I set the #1 cyl to TDC and now I don't know what the gap is in the cap?!! My merc manual is in the mail. Does anyone know what the gap is? What's the next step?? Etc. Thanks for reading.

Head on up to the "adults only" section. From there you can download the factory service manual that will explain the whole procedure. Just follow the instructions to download but it will work.
Also... you will need a set of feeler gauges or a matchbook cover to start. But you will really need a dwell meter (can be had at sears for 30 bucks) to get it all dialed in.
