I ran two treatments, back to back, on Saturday. My 1989 88HP Evinrude had never been treated with anything as far as I know. The results were somewhat like spiking Grandma's tea with Red Bull!! I picked up about 350 rpm at full throttle, about 100 at idle, and no more bogging on hole shot. Cheapest, and most effective "tune up" I can remember. Didn't foul the plugs like I expected it might...I'm not a big fan of liquid miracle treatments for anything, but this stuff WORKED!!

seafoam is a great addative. you can use it in many applications. alot of people dont know but you can suck a can of seafoam thru a vacum hose on your car and clean out the carbon in your motor.

I tried that vacuum hose thing on my truck and it worked, sort of.

I had to pull the intake to chenge an injector so I did that first then pulled it, the cylinder closest to the hose was spotless the next not as much ect till the 5-6 cylinders didn't get any, too much vacuum I geuss for it to make all the way up front.

so to be really effective you would have to find a way to get it to the front cylinders.

I'd think twice about pulling Sea Foam into your engine, any of that carbon it lossens up and blows through the exhaust will not be nice to your catalytic converter. Unless you gonna dump the exhaust before the Cat somehow then you're gonna do more damage than good. Cat's are not cheap. You can also risk pluggin up your EGR.

The best/safest way to clean carbon from your Auto engine is Auto-RX in the oil, takes a little longer but aint gonna plug anything up.

Sea Foam is great stuff for marine engines, but I still don't understand how something that can decarb your engine and needs to be blown out after sitting for a few hours, can also be use to fog your engine for 4 months over the winter????

Did you spray Sea Foam in through the carbs as Deep Creep or run in a small gas tank through your engine?

this is the method i have used for years.

Decarb, take a can of seafoam put 3/4 of it in the gas tank, with only 1 gallon of premixed gas. put the rest in a spray bottle. start the engine, and let it come up to temperature. then remove plugs, and them some real good shot of seafoam into the cylinders, replace plugs, let sit 15 minutes. restart, and spray the rest of the seafoam into the carbs, so the the motor almost stalls, wait and repeat until the seafoam is gone.then take for a wide open spin. then put in new plugs, ad premixed gas to the tank, and take it for a wide open throttle spin. it is going to smoke like a house on fire, during this process.

afterwards compression.recheck

So tashasdaddy, do you run the entire gallon of Sea Foam mixed gas through the engine until it stalls or just until the whole gallon is gone?

Does that clean the carbs at all?

I've never used more than the 16 ounce can for a de-carbon treatment, but I did two in short succession when I got my first boat. Then once a year after that.

I've used it a couple times on my boat. The first time I used it was when we first bought the boat, I bought 2 cans and dumped it into a full tank of gas (25 gallons). It seemed to help it start a little easier, but I wouldn't swear to it.

The second time was just 2 weeks ago. I thought it might be the last weekend we used the boat this year, so I bought a can and threw it in with a full tank before we went out..... in hopes it would stabilize the gas for winter.... but now they are calling for 84 degrees this weekend, so I guess I need to buy one or two more cans of it...

Yesterday I pulled the heads to try and resolve an overheating issue I'm having, and the heads and pistons look great! There's some soot on the pistons, of course, but also large areas on the top of every piston that are clean as a whistle.

I did a decarb last Fall when I first purchased the boat. This year I've used Seafoam religiously at a ratio of one can for every 20-25 gallons of gas.

Yesterday I pulled the heads to try and resolve an overheating issue, and the heads and pistons look great! There's some soot on the pistons, of course, but also large areas on the top of every piston that are clean as a whistle. I'm not going to bother with a decarb again as I don't feel I need it. I'll just keep using the stuff along with the Sta-bil and semi-synthetic oil.

all you need to do on your automotive needs is pull he vacum off the brake booster and it will get to all you cylinders, will not clog up anything.will smoke alot but does good. i use it in my cars about every 4 or 5 months.
