I have a Hummingbird divice that only gives me accurate readings when the motor is not running ... why is this ?

where is it mounted and where are the electrical connections.

Is the transducer mounted too close to the engine and therefore creating interference. Power wires should not be run parallel to the engine wiring harness as that too can induce interference.
