Planning to go to Fish River the week of Thanksgiving. I need to make sure I have everything needed to catch some redfish/trout. I will be bringing my 14ft Aluminum boat, spinning rod/reels with about 10lb test and plan to pickup some popping corks and use a 20lb test mono leader with about a 3/0 hook. Other than that I dont have any other special equipment. Is any needed?

Some questions I have....
- Where should I stay, need a small inexpensive motel.
- Where should I put in at?
- Plans now are to use frozen / live shimp, any concerns?
- What about artificial bait? What is good?
- I have been told that I should focus on fishing around the boat docks, correct?
- Do I need to purchase any special tags for fishing? All I have is the freshwater lics.,

Any other advice is greatly appreciated.

I fished there a couple times this year and really caught anything worth keeping all to small from fish river the closer you get to mobile bay the better also around big mouth and the weeks bay reef is good you will need a saltwater fish licence best bait is shrimp alive or dead and alewives from my exp if I want a lot of fish I go at night and use live bait with no cork and fish around the brightest lights on the water. But I also know the river for night navigation and also the best boat launch is on hwy 98 under the big bridge at weeks bay fish river good luck to you
