(1) Doubt it. Anyway, depending on water clarity, the bottom of the boat probably appears black anyway.
(2) The one that sticks and retards growth.
(3) Popular demand....before the availability of all the modern synthetics.
(4) Yes

Ayuh,... Fish relate to Structure, regardless the Color... A boat is merely Structure to a Fish..

1. My boats bottom is white, tuna & mahi come within 10' of it to eat a lure or bait. They can;t be that afraid of it.
2. What EddiePetty said.
3. I don't know that one.
4. Red turns a shade of gray, darker with depth.

Sportfishermen around here don't have a preference in color but some do paint squid and other baitfish on the bottom in a contrasting color. I guess if you believe in something as simple as this, it will work for you.

My bottom is white and I catch just as well as anyone else. Some swear by black while others swear by light blue to match the sky.

The one thing that is no argument is that diesels seem to out fish gas powered boats for some reason.

Red disappears first but it?s from the loss of light penetrating that deep in the water column. Its not going to disappear on the bottom of a boat.

Red and blue are popular for matching the boot stripe on a boat. By far the most popular is black around here

Re: fishes with colors

thanks for all and I am really proud in myself that I am one of iboats members.

way most of fisherman?s says the sand color is the best is it because of the color of the sand are the same as bottom of the sea.

I am or you are not the one who can do the trails to find out the best result but if we all share we can be as a big company and we can find out the best.

thanks

Re: fishes with colors

We troll for Muskys. Grandpa used to say that if the bottom of the boat wasn't green you wouldn't catch any fish. His boat was green and I have pictures of some of the big ones he caught..

There is a local tournament here every year and several dozen old timers are out fishing every day. Every one of their boats are green....At least the ones that catch all the fish and win the tournament.

I painted the bottom of my boat green. For several years we did well. I bought a new boat in 2009 (Starcraft with unpainted bottom) and haven't caught a Musky since.

Just passing along facts, not making any conclusions.....
