Hello,
I was wondering if someone could help me. I have an old Lowrance X37 fishfinder I am looking replace.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good unit that will show structure reasonably well in the ~ $200 price range?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Fishfinder - $200 range - any recommendations?

I just bought a Humminbird 150 portable fish finder and I'm very happy with it. I have several small boats and canoes that I take it on so I went with the portable unit that comes with its own battery. The 150 is a single cone- the 160 is dual cone for a larger footprint of sounding. Both are under $200- if you want color or GPS included then you're looking at $300+.

It can be mounted permanently if desired as well.

Looking back on it I wish I'd bought the Minn Kota with tranducer built in. I just found out that they make those. Instead I'll probably attach the transducer to my minn kota using a kit.

Humminbird has great customer service as well so I'd recommend them. If you end up needing a different cable for power or transducer they will mail it out for free.:)

Good Luck!
