I am looking to buy a new fishfinder. I am replacing a Eagle Magna II plus which I really liked. I am looking for the same feature with the speed and temp. Don't know anything about the new ones, looking to keep it cheap as I don't us it all that much and really can not afford one now. Its more of a pleasure boat then fishing and use the depth, speed and temp more then anything. Thanks for any sugestions.

Re: Fishfinder help

If you liked the Magna II then continue the tradition with a similar model from Lowrance/Eagle. Most of them have speed and temp capability and you don't have to spend a fortune to get it. The decision will be whether you want gray scale or color. I've used these two brands for many years (including a Magna III Ultra) and have never had an issue with any of them.

Re: Fishfinder help

Went out looking today and liked the Garmin 400c. More then I want to spend but seen like a nice unit with bright display. What do you guys feel about it? Also whats better a dual bean or dual freq. transducer and whats the difference? Thanks
