I have a Stingray 180RS w/ Merc sterndrive.My question is- Is it possible to mount the transducer inside the boat(near the engine on the floor)without losing the performance of the fishfinder. It's a hummingbird piranhamax 215.

There are several methods of doing this but all seem to have a drop in performance over the thru-hull or transom mount methods. If you search this forum for transducer you should find several write ups on the pro's and con's of this install as well as some good info on how to do it!
