Spoiled another beginner. Took a person that has never fished for stripers before and he is 68 years old. Yesterday he caught his first striper, a 46 inch fish and weighed 45 lbs. and we had four more fish. He was very happy. You could not miss yesterday, stripers were every where. there is no shortage of stripers around our coast, they summer here from late May thru October. As long as the mackerel stay around we will be catching cows. Most of all the fish that I catch are over 38 inches. Those who fish from shore will mostly catch small fish and on occasion will catch a fish over 28 inches. When I fish along the shore from my boat I average 24 to 30 fish in about 4 hours to catch a keeper over the 28 inches required by law in Mass. to keep.

Re: Fishing Cape Ann

Was this caught on a fly or do you use other methods?
