The boat in the back ground is a "Junk". It was built by a bunch of volunteers for historical purpose's. They used all the tools that would of been available at the time these were around 1700-1900... The peer used to look so different.. The old one I remember had steel rails for fish carts to ride on and parts of the old planks were missing. You had to be careful as a kid because you could trip real easily and fall in the water.. The boat tied out there you used to be able to rent for 5 bucks a day and you bring your own motor.. I used to see some big stergeon brought in.. There was one that was almost as long as the boat. They cut the head off.. Kind-of-neat..

well the water in the gulf sometime gets that nice but it is usually alittle "sandyer".<br />we fish for spotted seatrout (spec's) redfish and flounder. use shrimp and mullet for live bait and gold spoons or soft plastics for artificial. tring to get a trip up for saterday but don't know if the friend i go with can make it. might just go alone be cause a guy i work with said they caught a few last week.

BD, <br />My best friend moved to Weed about 6 years ago and i'v been going up there at least a dozen times a year. I just purchased my 1st boat and drove it back to the bay area a few months ago. We usually fish Mcloud, Lake Britton and Shastina. Since he's been there he really likes to fish for Brownie's but we dont have a good guide to show us the ropes. Sure would like to find out other fishing spots from a local.

Siskiyou has some great fishing by the dam, but you can't take 2-strokes out on the lake..Only 4-strokes.. The lake is right below weed a miles south.. This is the best time to go, there isn't many campers up there.. The browns are big too..

If i cant take my girl then i dont go!! We fished off the bank b4 i got her.....never had any good luck there......caught a 4lb bass out of Shastina, been hooked every since....trying to locate more fishing spots in the area. I was online and saw Lake Britton so me and my buddie got up early one saturday when i drove up and it was very cool.....we had a blast, i got smoked but my buddie caught a small bass.

I took a gal fishing once....we didn't catch much but she did go home with a red snapper.
