Could care less If I get a line wet.

I am slowly getting into fishing, but just cruising across the lake and sitting with my feet in the water for a few hours is a great time too.

I have no problem sitting in the boat for hours while others are fishing and just relaxing, listening to the waves. Last spring it was a cool weekend on the lake with 6 of us in the boat, too cold to swim. We were out in my boat, bout 6 hours of fishing.... I had a line in the water maybe 1 hour of that and had a great time.

Primarily cruising and entertaining, but nothing preventing me from dropping a line and do so when I feel the need. :)

Well mellow,

It goes like this...

I do most of my boating on the weekends, so I normally rise around 5AM on Saturday mornings and shoot out to the Fire Island Inlet to do a spell of fishing, usually fish for Fluke, Sea Bass, Blue Fish, and the all elusive Stripped Bass.

Usually do that til around 2 or 3PM, then head back to dock to clean fish and boat.

Return to boat, usually after dinner, and head over to one of the communities on Fire Island, for a little socializing, as there are many bars and resturants there.

Then usually try to find my way back across the bay, sometime in the wee morning hours, trying to avoid the police, who patrol the bay heavily at night, and get home, usually before 4AM.

On Sunday's, I usually just try to cure my hang-over, by sitting and enjoying the sites on the beach.

Boating during the week usually entails either just hanging out at the dock, or cruising over a couple of towns to where I have a few boating buddies, and just hang out there for a little while.

We live on Ten Mile Lakes, not on the water , but we have a view! Actually we went the last three years without a boat, as we thought about moveing and had someone wanting to buy out old boat, (Skeeter Bass) and sold it to them! Last fall we finally purchased an 18' 1800 SF Bass Tracker (Used), after looking all summer for the right boat! Used it a couple of times before the rains started! there are time when all we do is just go out and drive around, Sometimes just anchor and lay in the sun and swimm a little! but we always have the poles in the boat, Surprisingly enough, its more often than not that my wife wants to wet a line before we go back! She loves those Bass!

I get up early, fish, make my way back home. By then, the better half is ready to go out, so it is Phase II, cruisin'/gettin' some sun or whatever. A lot of times we'll head out after work for a short cruise. Sometimes I'll just sit on the dock and fish while she kayaks. I would say my boat is about 80% fished, 20 % cruised.

I like fishing. My wife likes water sports. I usually fish while she and the kids are taking a break in a cove on the lake. Toss out some stinky bait for cats. nothin scares them away.

If it weren't for the love of fishing I wouldn't own a boat.
And that is only my opinion.
There are people at the marina that i'm at that just go and sit on there boat for the week end without untieing a line.
Also I'm not one to just to ride around the harbor.

A boat to me is a tool that gets me from place to place, fishing, scuba div., hunting, i've never used my boat for cruizin around.

We use ours mainly for fishing but occasionaly we enter poker runs for various charities and that's fun too. The youngest grandbaby will be out of diapers soon so it'll be time to haul out the tube & skis again.
